Let the SuperGames begin

4/20/20 UPDATE

Our finalists are confirmed! On April 16th, 50 pairs of streamers competed in an all-out, no holds barred Twitch Rivals SuperGames featuring Fortnite competition. The top 12 immediately moved on to our Finals on April 22nd at 5 PM PST/8 PM EST for a shot to win $1,000,000. 

Not only will that April 22nd show have incredible talent playing Fortnite, but viewers will be able to earn an Eyeball Octopus Spray and Wrap via Twitch drops. In order to be eligible, users must link their Epic Games and Twitch accounts by 11:59 PM PST on April 21st and watch one of the SuperGames streams for at least 30 minutes.

The skirmishes on April 16th were tense and exciting, but 12 duos were able to set themselves above the rest of the pack and emerged victorious. The qualifying pairs are below:

Baseball players Mason Denaburg and Brendan “B-Rod” Rodgers dominated the rest of the field throughout the competition, proving themselves to be one of the favorite duos to take it all in this competition. Other notable finalists include the Glasgow brothers, Graham and Ryan, Streamer Bowl competitors Kurt Benkert and David Morgan, and a couple of cross-sport combos: Avonte Maddox and Dylan Windler, and Zach Aston-Reese and Jameson Taillon.

These 12 final duos will be joined by eight other pairs of athletes in the finals on April 22:

  1. Cy-Young Award Winning pitcher Blake Snell and Los Angeles Dodgers second baseman Gavin Lux
  2. Pro Bowl WRs Mike Evans and Juju Smith-Scuhster
  3. NASCAR Driver Chase Elliott and MLB pitcher Trevor May
  4. MLB All-Stars Bryce Harper and Trae Turner
  5. WWE Superstar Austin Creed (Xavier Woods) and NFL Pro-Bowler Mike Daniels
  6. US Men’s National Soccer Team star Christian Pulisic and MLS pro Danny Barbir
  7. NFL Rookie of the Year Kyler Murray and NBA player Josh Hart
  8. US Rugby Players Cody Melphy and Stephen Tomasin

All 20 of these duos will be drafted by pairs of streamers on April 20th. The competing streamer duos are:

Sports may be on hold, but your favorite athletes are still at the top of their games and they’re coming to Twitch to prove it. Introducing Twitch Rivals SuperGames featuring Fortnite –a competition with the ultimate prize: a one million dollar donation to the winner’s charity of choice.

Watch professional athletes get paired with your favorite streamers to dominate the Lazy Lake, Pleasant Park, and Frenzy Farm, and see who reigns supreme. We’ve assembled talent across all the top sports leagues including NFL Pro Bowl wide receiver Mike Evans, NASCAR driver Chase Elliott, and former Cy-Young Award winning pitcher Blake Snell, among others. They’ll be teaming up with streamers including Aydan, reverse2k, replays, and Nickeh30.

Here’s what’s coming:

April 13 and April 16 @ 1 PM PDT / 4 PM EDT - OPEN AND SEMI-FINALS

Top athletes from the NBA, NFL, MLB, NHL, and MLS will pair up as duos to compete in a two-day qualifier tournament. Over 200 athletes will be competing in total. On Day Two the Semifinals will include the top-50 duos broadcast live on twitch.tv/twitchrivals. Top performing duos will progress from this phase.

April 20 @ 5 PM PDT / 8 PM EDT - DRAFT from Top 20 Duos

Pre-selected streamer captains will draft the qualified athletes (20 duos) into four-person squads consisting of the captain, a streamer teammate, and two athletes. There may also be other surprises during the draft, so tune in to learn more! This will be broadcast on twitch.tv/twitchrivals and each streamers’ individual channels.

April 22 @ 5 PM PDT / 8 PM EDT - FINALS

The 20 squads will play a series of matches to determine the champion. This will be an epic, multi-round bout with analysis and interviews before and after every round of the competition.
