Uploads Open Beta: Help shape the future of Uploads on Twitch

Starting today, you can now upload videos on Twitch.

Twitch is already the best place online to find streamers and their communities, but we know that not everyone wants to dedicate themselves to the challenge of building a new streaming channel. With uploads, anyone with great videos can stand out on Twitch.

When you upload a video, you don’t have to be on your toes, live on-stream. Anyone can record and edit full game playthroughs, step-by-step tutorials, highlight reels, montages, or any other videos that now have a home on Twitch. If you do already stream, you can download your past broadcasts and highlights, and use them to create new videos that you can schedule and share with your viewers when you’re offline — whether you’re just between streams or taking a well-deserved vacation.

Here’s what you can expect

  • Upload videos to Twitch from your video manager!

  • Uploads are saved indefinitely — no expiration dates

  • Notify your followers when you publish a new video or post directly to your channel feed

  • Download your Past Broadcasts and Highlights to make new content

  • Stats for each video, so you can see your growth over time

Uploads open beta

At Twitch, we have always relied on our users to help shape the direction of what we build. From the launch of Twitch itself, to the addition of Creative and our many evolving features.

Over the years, lots of users have asked us to add uploads to Twitch, so we want all users to have a voice in shaping the future of uploads. As a result, we’re introducing a new kind of beta focused on open outreach to the entire Twitch community.

Starting today, we have two ways you can share feedback. First, you can share feedback and product ideas on our uploads product forum. You’ll be able to see ideas submitted by other users and add votes to ideas you especially like. If you want to have a more in-depth conversation with other users about your ideas for the future of uploads or how to create great content, head on over to the Twitch Uploads Curse server and get chatting — you’ll probably even see a few members of the uploads product team popping in to say hi. And don’t forget, you can always submit bug reports to Twitch Support at help.twitch.tv.

We already have a laundry list of features we want to build with your input. We know how much our users get out of being able to chat live with streamers, so developing new ways for viewers and content creators to interact is at the top of our list. And since we know how difficult it can be for creators to make a living with their content, creating new subscriber benefits and other revenue opportunities for creators is another major priority.

Once we start hearing your feedback and incorporating it into new features, we’ll be sharing regular updates on our progress. These new features won’t be built overnight, so keep an eye out for more updates over the coming weeks and months.

We want to make sure that the entire Twitch Community has a voice in contributing to the tools and systems that you want to see. This is your chance to share your ideas, and make a difference at the start of a brand new chapter for Twitch.
