Update #2 — Channel Page Beta
Twitch broadcasters -
Here at Twitch, our goal is to be the best video platform and community for gamers. We know that Twitch is your home away from home and we are fully aware how important your channel pages are to you.
Last week, we launched the broadcaster-only beta period of our channel page redesign project. The goal of this beta period was not clearly communicated (we’re sorry). This closed beta is specifically designed to gather the type of feedback you’ve been providing for the past week. Thank you sincerely for all of your contributions. We are listening and we hear you!
Your feedback falls into three main categories, each of which we’re actively working on in the coming weeks. You can expect major enhancements in at least these three areas:
Customization and Individuality We heard this one loud and clear: you want more customization options. We have lots of ideas that you’ll love. When we’re finished, you’ll have more options to make your channel as unique as you are.
Donation Options Many of you want to know why we did away with the option to include Chip-In. We didn’t! We want you to be able to engage with your community and gather donations as you see fit. We are exploring several options for improved channel donations.
Left Column Content The new left column is intended to help viewers discover channels when you go offline or just looking for something new. Many of you let us know that the broadcasters that appear there aren’t always as relevant as you’d like. We’re hoping to improve relevance and all options are on the table.
Again, thank you for your feedback and for your patience. We’re working as hard as we can on the above features, and we’re excited to roll them out.
