New and Improved Channel Pages — Broadcaster Beta

Twitch broadcasters -

We’re always working overtime to make Twitch the best place to broadcast your gameplay. First, thank you for choosing Twitch and for making us the leading video platform and community for gamers.

You may have noticed some exciting announcements lately including partnerships with Sony Online Entertainment, EA Origin, and Paradox Interactive — and that’s just the beginning. While we’re working with a variety of game publishers and platforms to make broadcasting easier than ever, we’re also hammering away on the site to make sure it offers the best experience for both broadcasters and viewers.

Today we’re announcing a major update: a complete redesign of your Twitch channel pages. The new design gives you a more streamlined way for you to display information to your viewers, and for your viewers to experience your channel. We’re rolling out the new design in three distinct phases, beginning today.

Broadcaster-Only Beta Period The new design is going live today, Monday, November 12, in a broadcaster-only beta period that will give you time to make sure that the look and feel of your channel is exactly what you want before we launch the feature to the Twitch viewer base. During this time, only you the broadcaster (and your designated editors) will be able to see the new channel page layout.

To access the beta, simply go to your channel page and click the announcement link at the top. This is rolling out across the site as we speak. If you don’t see it now, you will soon.

Viewer Opt-In Beta Period During the week of Monday, November 19, we’ll launch a viewer opt-in beta period in which viewers will have the option to view Twitch via the old-school channel design if they prefer, or the new-school design that you just set up. We encourage you to encourage your viewers to jump into the new channel pages when you feel comfortable doing so.

Going Forward We’re fully aware how important the look, feel and design of your channel pages are to you. This is version one of the channel page redesign, and we are dedicated to improving on the design on a regular basis. During the broadcaster-only beta period (Nov 12–18) and the viewer opt-in beta period (starting Nov 19), we will gather feedback from the entire Twitch community and make sure that we take it all into account as we iterate on the channel pages going forward.

Please review the new Support Center article and as always let us know what you think. We want your feedback. Please let us know your thoughts at feedback@twitch.tv.

We think you’re going to love your new channel page, and we hope that you’re as excited about this as we are.

Sincerely,

The Twitch Team
